Vape Regulations in Europe: A Quick Guide for Liquid Whisper Customers
Wondering about the regulations surrounding vaping in Europe? Liquid Whisper is here to clear the air! Here's a breakdown of the key points:
-
TPD stands for Tobacco Products Directive. It's a set of EU regulations ensuring safety and consumer awareness for all tobacco products, including vaping.
-
Why vaping? E-liquids often contain nicotine, even if they don't have tobacco leaves. Since nicotine is addictive, TPD aims to regulate its use in these products.
-
What's changed for vapers? Mainly the size and labelling. E-cigarette tanks and pods can only hold a maximum of 2ml of e-liquid, and nicotine-containing e-liquids come in 10ml bottles or smaller. The highest nicotine strength you'll find is 20mg/ml, and the packaging must clearly warn about nicotine addiction.
-
Safety first! TPD also ensures child-resistant bottles and bans ingredients like caffeine, taurine, and diacetyl (potentially linked to lung problems) in e-liquids. All vaping products need approval before being sold.
-
Liquid Whisper is Compliant! We take regulations seriously. All our tanks and e-liquid bottles meet TPD limits. We offer larger nicotine-free bottles (short fills) for DIY enthusiasts, and of course, all our e-liquids are approved.

New vaper? These rules have likely been in place for a while, so you probably haven't noticed a difference. But if you have any questions, Liquid Whisper's friendly team is always happy to help!
